Summer camps fill up quickly. And for working parents, this can be a challenge since you may not be able to care for your children and work. But, licensed daycares are an option since they can be very similar to summer camps. And, your child can still have a fun summer while at daycare!
Let’s go over how licensed daycares can be like summer camp.
Outdoor Activities
Just like summer camp, your child will have the opportunity to play outdoors with other children. Although they may not be outside all day, they could be outside for a morning or afternoon playing with other kids. This allows your child to still enjoy the warm weather and get outdoor physical activity. And, your child will be supervised by licensed adults who care for your children during your working hours.
Making New Friends
When your child goes to daycare, they may be around other kids who they haven’t met. This fosters new friendships that your child can keep. And, you may even find that your child wants to hang out with their new friends outside of daycare. So, daycare still offers an opportunity to create new friends, just like summer camp.
Educational
At daycares, your child may get the opportunity to learn about new concepts. There may be educational story times or activities that intellectually stimulate your child. At summer camp, your child may be too busy outdoors that they don’t have time to engage in educational activities. This can also prepare your child for going back to school and may help them advance.
Teaches Independence
When you drop your child off at summer camp, they have to be independent to some degree. And, it’s the same at daycare. Your child has to care for themselves while being supervised. This could be knowing how to play safely with others and exploring their likes and dislikes. Either way, allowing your child to become independent at a young age will help them in the future.
